Be sure to register with Natural Resources Canada, book your pre-retrofit evaluation and choose what you would like to upgrade from heating, cooling, ventilation and much more. LiveSmart BC is Back

If you have your furnace (or fireplace) serviced before October 31, 2011, Fortis BC will give you a $25 Save-On-FoodsTM gift card. Save $250 per exchange when replacing an uncertified wood burning appliance with a qualifying wood burning/electric/propane appliance. Save $350 per exchange when replacing an uncertified wood burning appliance with a non Enerchoice rated natural gas appliance. Qualify for $250 Metro Vancouver Rebate and $300 Fortis BC Rebate when exchanging an uncertified wood burning appliance for an Enerchoice Rated appliance.

$1000 Rebate to Switch n’ Shrink
Make the switch from your oil or propane heating system to natural gas, install an ENERGY STAR® heating system and get a $1,000 rebate. All current Terasen Gas or Terasen Gas (Vancouver Island) Inc. residential customers are eligible for this promotion and the offer expires December 31, 2011. A forced air furnace with an AFUE rating of 90% or greater or a boiler with an AFUE rating of 85% or greater, or a condensing combination system used for both space and water heating would be required.
By switching, you’ll be using one of the cleanest burning fossil fuels available. Plus, today’s natural gas appliances are up to 97% efficient. These benefits go a long way towards shrinking your carbon footprint.
Get $50 more with an ECM motor. Electronically commutated motors (ECM) last longer, use less energy and are quieter than conventional electric motors. If your new furnace has an ECM motor, you’ll get an additional $50 rebate supplied by either BC Hydro or FortisBC.
